Unalloyed Gold is a type of metal in Elden Ring. It is produced and employed by the demigod and empyrean, Miquella, the Unalloyed.

After observing that Golden Order Fundamentalism could not alleviate his sister's sickness, Miquella began pursuing other means of treating her condition. One of these pursuits leading to the creation of Unalloyed Gold[1], a substance that Miquella would make into a primary design element in the equipment of his army and closest companions.

Repeatedly used as a medium to compel affection[2] and raise faith,[3][4][5] one of the primary inventions that enforced the pursuit of this metal were the many prototypes of Miquella's Needle. An artifact that when inserted into ones flesh, had the ability to ward away the meddling of the outer gods.[6] However, even the latest and most advanced model of these needles are still considered incomplete, and could only accomplish this fully if inserted into the flesh while standing in a location that has been untouched by time, the only currently known location being the heart of the storm found in Farum Azula.[7]

Notes[]

  • For a metal to be considered to be unalloyed, it needs to have no alloys. An alloy is a collection of minerals that are mixed into a metal's recipe in order to alter it's properties. In other words, unalloyed gold is pure gold that has not been mixed with other metals.
