Tree Sentinel is a reoccurring boss in Elden Ring.
Overview[]
An order of knights, dedicated to the protection of the Erdtree.[1] They are considered to be the living rampart of the Erdtree, and served as inspiration for Leyndell's knights.[2]
After the Ancient Dragon Gransax attacked Leyndell, some of the Tree Sentinels began to emulate the Ancient Dragons in order to better protect the Erdtree[3], wielding weapons[4] and shields[5] whittled from the claws of dragons and imbued with their lightning. These knights are referred to as Draconic Tree Sentinels.
Variant Description[]
A Tree Sentinel who wields a halberd and a greatshield. The shield allows the Tree Sentinel to dispel sorceries and counter with a golden beam that deals holy damage.

Background[]
A Tree Sentinel encountered near the First Step, on the short path leading to the Church of Elleh. This boss can be avoided by staying away from the path. It is one of the first bosses the player is likely to encounter.
Background[]
A duo of Tree Sentinels fought at the top of the steps leading up to the gate to the Capital Outskirts, just before the Outer Wall Phantom Tree Site of Grace. One wields a halberd while the other bears a Sentry's Torch. Although they have separate health bars, both must be defeated to clear the boss and obtain the rewards.
Background[]
A duo of Tree Sentinels found in the Hinterlands of Scaduview, guarding the path to the Minor Erdtree incantation.
The shield-wielder starts out on to the left, on the path to riding across the nearby bridge, while the torch-wielder is riding down the path from Shaman Village. This means they are quite easy to fight separately.
As with the Altus duo both of these must be defeated to get their runes, but their respective Blessings are dropped the first time each is killed.Gallery[]
