Shaman Village

Shaman Village is a location within the Realm of Shadow in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Overview[]

The Shaman Village is a tranquil hamlet hidden in the Scaduview, nestled among lush vegetation and vibrant, multicolored flowers. A few cobblestone homes rest on a hill warmed by the gentle golden light of an Erdtree sapling. At the village's highest point, an old tree contains a statue of a silver-haired maiden.

This village was once populated by persecuted shamans before the Age of the Erdtree. It was the home of Marika before her ascension to godhood. By the time Marika returned, her kinfolk had vanished. In their memory, she planted a minor Erdtree and offered her Golden Braid to the Grandmother entombed within the tree.^[1]^[2]

Location[]

The Shaman Village is situated in the eastern Hinterland of Scaduview, a secret area unlocked by solving a puzzle at the Shadow Keep. To access it, perform the O Mother gesture before a statue of Marika near the Shadow Keep, Back Gate Site of Grace and head southeast.

The road to the village is guarded by two Tree Sentinels in possession of a Blessing of Marika. The nearest Sites of Grace are Hinterland and Hinterland Bridge, though the village itself lacks a dedicated Site of Grace. The village is entered from the west, with a one-way path connecting to Scadu Altus in the southeast, where a cliffside descent reveals a secret area within Rabbath's Rise.

There are no bosses or enemies at the Shaman Village; however, two Tree Sentinels guard the surrounding surrounding Hinterland area.
The shamans were spirited away or kidnapped by the hornsent Greater Potentates of the Bonny Village.^[3]^[4]
Many of the former residents were tortured and turned into Jar Dwellers.^[5]
