Shabriri is an NPC in Elden Ring.
Overview[]
Shabriri, the most reviled man in all history, is said to have begun the sickness of the flame of frenzy.[1] He was the first known worshiper of the Three Fingers and the flame of frenzy. For the crime of slander, he had his eyes gouged out. The Three Fingers would later use this opportunity to let the flame of frenzy then fester within his empty sockets.[2]
Shabriri's spirit somehow lives on, able to claim the bodies of others as his own, making them his vessels. The Tarnished encounters Shabriri in the Mountaintops of the Giants, where he is shown to be inhabiting the body of Bloody Finger Hunter Yura.[3] The Tarnished, at the behest of Melina, is bound for the giant's forge so that the maiden may set the Erdtree aflame.[4] However, Shabriri attempts to persuade the Tarnished to seek out the Three Fingers in the depths below Leyndell, revealing that their ascendency to the throne of Elden Lord would require Melina's sacrifice.[5] He proposes an alternative path: the Tarnished may inherit the flame of frenzy and serve as kindling, sparing Melina's life.[6] Shabriri bids the Tarnished become the Lord of Chaos, burning the Erdtree to the ground and incinerating all that divides and distinguishes.[7]

Questline Progression[]
- Mountaintops of the Giants
- Shabriri can be found by the Zamor Ruins Site of Grace near the beginning of the area. Exhaust his dialogue to unlock new dialogue from Melina when resting at a Site of Grace. Note that once Shabriri appears, Yura's questline will end regardless of how much progress has been made in it. It is not necessary to have started Yura's questline for Shabriri to appear.
- Frenzied Flame Proscription
- Travel to the Frenzied Flame Proscription through the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds and Cathedral of the Forsaken. Remove all of your armour and interact with the door on the lowest floor for a cutscene in which the Three Fingers embrace you. This can be done regardless of whether you have met Shabriri already. Doing so will cause Shabriri to disappear from his previous location.
- This will unlock the Lord of Frenzied Flame Ending. This will lock you out of achieving any of the other endings unless you obtain Miquella's Needle by completing Millicent's quest and defeating Malenia, Blade of Miquella, and using it in Dragonlord Placidusax's boss room.
- (Optional) Leyndell, Ashen Capital
- Shabriri will be available as a co-operator to assist with the fight against Godfrey, First Elden Lord.
Notes[]
- In Jewish mythology, Shabriri is the demon of blindness, who rests on uncovered water at night and blinds those who drink from it. Shabriri covering his eyes while occupying Yura's body may be a reference to this.
