The Secret Rite Scroll is a Key Item in Shadow of the Erdtree.

A scroll made of white tree bark.
Few can decipher the scroll, which describes the secret rite of the divine gateway said to be found at the tower enshrouded by shadow.
"A lord will usher in a god's return, and the lord's soul will require a vessel."

Effects[]

The Secret Rite Scroll is given to Sir Ansbach near the Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace to advance his questline.^[1]^[2]^[3]

Acquisition[]

Location: Specimen Storehouse

The Secret Rite Scroll is found at the Specimen Storehouse, nearest the Storehouse, Fourth Floor Site of Grace. From the grace, exit outside and travel left. Defeat the enemy at the top of the stairs and continue. There is a downward staircase on the left before the area with Man-Bats. The staircase leads to a room containing a bookshelf and the table where the Secret Rite Scroll may be found.

Notes[]

The existence of this scroll implies Miquella the Kind was not the first to perform the rite.^[4]^[5]
- It is possible Serosh was bound to Hoarah Loux in this way to create Godfrey, First Elden Lord.^[6]
- It is also possible that this particular scroll contains only one of the many possible methods of using the Gate to reach Divinity.
