Redmane Freyja is an NPC in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
Overview[]
Formerly one of the most distinguished knights of Starscourge Radahn, who invited her into his ranks after witnessing her valour as a gladiator[1], Freyja is one of the compatriots of Needle Knight Leda who followed Miquella into the Realm of Shadow.
In the past, Freyja was stricken by Scarlet Rot in the Swamp of Aeonia. Left behind and resigned to death, she was approached by Miquella, who put his lips to her wound and drained the poison from it.[2][3] Freyja was subsequently charmed by Miquella, and later entered the Realm of Shadow with Leda and her compatriots.
After Miquella's charm is broken, Freyja chooses to strike out on her own, although she remains loyal to Miquella.[4] She recalls Miquella mentioning a vow he once made with her former lord Radahn, and resolves to learn the nature of the vow.[5] To this end, she travels to the Shadow Keep, where she has difficulty reading the letters etched into the stone tablets.[6] With assistance from the The Tarnished and Sir Ansbach, Freyja learns that Miquella wishes to revive the soul of General Radahn. Freyja welcomes this, believing that endless war would suit her former master better than an honourable death.[7]
Later, Freyja joins Leda and Dryleaf Dane in Enir-Ilim, in their fight against the Tarnished. Upon her defeat, she praises the Tarnished for providing her with a glorious battle.[8]
