Placidusax's Ruin is a spell in Elden Ring.
Though it may look similar, it's neither one of the Dragon Cult Incantations nor one of the Dragon Communion Incantations.
Description[]
Power gleaned from the remembrance of Dragonlord Placidusax.
Transforms caster into the Dragonlord to spew golden breath from above. This incantation can be cast while jumping.
These are the dying wails of the Dragonlord who once dwelled eternally beyond time.
Aquisition[]
Trade the Remembrance of the Dragonlord, dropped by Dragonlord Placidusax, with Finger Reader Enia.
Alternatively, use one of the Wandering Mausoleums with a bell to duplicate one (can only obtain one per playthrough using either method).
Effect[]
Sends an electric burst almost immediately upon casting to deal Lightning damage and knock away players and lighter enemies, before sending out several sweeping, golden beams that deal Fire damage.
Notes[]
- This spell does not belong to any school of incantations, and as such doesn't have its damage boosted by any Sacred Seals.
- The damage being split between Lightning and Fire damage makes it somewhat difficult to maximize the entirety of the spells through Crystal Tears and Talismans.
- This damage split somewhat ironically gives it great similarity to the Incantations associated with Placidusax's archenemy Bayle the Dread, whose spells have the same split in damage types.
- The initial burst of Lightning comes out very quickly and as such is surprisingly useful when fighting other players or player-type enemies such as NPC invaders.
