Bloody Finger Okina (血の指、翁) is an NPC cooperator and invader in Elden Ring.
Overview[]
Okina (meaning "Old Man" in Japanese) is a great swordsman from the Land of Reeds whose nickname came from the wooden mask that depicts an old man baring his teeth.[1] He had several disciples in a group called the White Reeds, combatants who seek proper deaths won honorably through hard-fought combat. The head disciples of Okina were called the Inaba (Japanese name for the leaves of the rice plant).[2]
As time passed, the more Okina sharpened his mind, the more the absurdities of the world came into stark relief. And so he renounced it all, and rose to a higher plane. There was only himself. His katana. And its mastery.[3] This eventually led him to Mohg, Lord of Blood, and, when Mohg first felt Okina's sword, and madness, upon his flesh, he had a proposal: to offer Okina the life of a demon, whose thirst would never go unsated.[4]
Before long, Okina became a demon of a swordsman,[5] known as the only to wield an auxiliary weapon in his left hand while using a full-sized cursed katana in his right.[6]
The Inaba traveled to the Lands Between in pursuit of the master who abandoned them and, desiring nothing more than to die by the sword, also sought proper deaths.[7] And so, all that was known of them was that their armor and spirit were left lingering in the Spiritcaller Cave.
