The Nightfarers are the playable characters in Elden Ring Nightreign, belonging to a faction based at the Roundtable Hold.
Background[]
To avert the impending Night, members of the cutting-gifted tribe performed a ritual to summon the minds of their descendants to the Roundtable Hold. The Nightfarers were later drawn to the Hold from distant places and even different times. Though they had lost their memories, each retained a personal motive for opposing the Nightlord. They were led by the Priestess and aided by the Iron Menial and the Small Jar Bazaar.[citation needed]
They launched Expeditions into Limveld, calling upon the power of Spectral Hawks to repel the encroaching Night's Tide. After surviving the second Night, the Nightfarers entered the ethereal sap and journeyed to the Spirit Shelter. They awoke within the divine tower at Noontide of the final day and passed through the gate in the petrified tree, entering the Night of the Nightlord.[1]
Overview[]
Each Nightfarer is designed to deliver a unique gameplay experience. They are empowered with abilities, skills, and ultimate arts that drive their playstyles. Each Nightfarer has different attribute scaling and begins a run with a custom set of starting equipment. Relics must be set for each character independently. Team composition and coordination are instrumental in achieving success.
Unlike the Origins of previous titles, unselected Nightfarers appear as NPCs at the Roundtable Hold. They relocate and offer new interactions between expeditions. Advancing their questlines requires defeating new Nightlords or completing specific Remembrance mission objectives. Six Nightfarers are unlocked by default, and two more may be acquired by progressing the story. Ring the Character Selection bell near the Table of Lost Grace to change the active Nightfarer. The appearance of the player Nightfarer can be altered by equipping Garb (skins) at the Dresser.
