New Game or New Game+ or Playthrough or Journey is the system used by Elden Ring to determine how many times a character has defeated the final boss and started the game again with their old equipment at a higher difficulty.
Starting a new Journey[]
Upon defeating the final boss you will get the option to "Begin Journey 2" when sitting at the Table of Lost Grace Site of Grace in Roundtable Hold. Selecting this option will prompt you to answer Yes or No as to whether or not you'd like to advance to New Game+.
WARNING: Starting a new Journey resets the game largely to how it was at the beginning of the game, meaning all Bosses and NPCs are respawned and returned to their starting locations. It's NOT possible to return to a previous Journey.
The player character is placed at the beginning of the Chapel of Anticipation again, at their current level and with their current stats.
