Nepheli Loux, Warrior is an NPC in Elden Ring.

Overview

Nepheli Loux is a Tarnished warrior from the Badlands. In her infancy, Nepheli lived through murder and pillage unchecked At some point, she lost the guidance of grace, and was taken in by Gideon Ofnir, who became her foster father. Gideon promised Nepheli that if he became Elden Lord he would never allow the downtrodden to be cheated again, earning her loyalty and aid in his pursuit of the title of Elden Lord.

At the behest of Gideon, Nepheli infiltrates Stormveil Castle, the home of the demigod Godrick the Grafted. Here, she encounters a Tarnished, who aids her in defeating the decrepit demigod. With Godrick slain, she returns to Roundtable Hold, where she awards them with an Arsenal Charm she found in Stormveil, and encourages them to speak to her foster father.

Travelling to Liurnia of the Lakes, Nepheli comes upon the Village of the Albinaurics, where she witnesses the slaughter of the Albinauric inhabitants at the hands of her father's men. Reminded of the brutality she witnessed as a child, Nepheli vows to deliver justice to the oppressors, assisting the Tarnished in defeating the Omenkiller responsible for the slaughter.

For giving into her emotions and abandoning the mission, Nepheli is cast aside by Gideon. Without her estranged father's guidance, she becomes crestfallen, resigning to the lower levels of Roundtable Hold where she questions the faith she had in Gideon.

The Tarnished obtains the ashes of The Stormhawk King in the Chapel of Anticipation, which they may choose to give to Nepheli. She can smell the ancient storm within the ash, and is reminded of her first hawk. Despite her inability to sense spirits within ash, she gladly receives them.

After claiming the Stormhawk King's ashes, Nepheli encounters Kenneth Haight, who recognises her as a worthy heir of Limgrave. Nepheli accepts the role, having been reminded by Limgrave of her own home. As the new lord of Limgrave, Nepheli pledges to aid the Tarnished should they become Elden Lord, pledging to call upon the storm to drive away the foulness that has settled on the winds.

Questline Progression

NOTE: as Gatekeeper Gostoc's questline is intertwined with Nepheli's, hers will fail is he's killed and if aggroed you'll have to cleanse your sin at the Church of Vows via Celestial Dew.

1. Limgrave (Stormhill Shack)
   • Talk with Roderika, receiving the Spirit Jellyfish Ashes, and give her the Chrysalids' Memento retrieved from Godrick's grafting grounds in Stormveil Castle to have her move to the Roundtable Hold. Otherwise, just entering Liurnia of the Lakes is enough to trigger this passage and, while the Spirit Jellyfish Ashes will be lost, the Golden Seed you'd have received at the Hold can instead be found in her spot at the shack.
2. Roundtable Hold
   • Talk with Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-Knowing and exhaust his dialogues to have him move inside his study guarded by Ensha of the Royal Remains.
   • Talk with Hewg selecting About Roderika, then speak to her selecting Tell her what the blacksmith said and finally return to the smithing master selecting About Roderika -> Would you watch over Roderika? -> It's what she wants. Roderika becoming a Spirit Tuner under Hewg's wing is necessary to complete step #7.
3. Limgrave (Liftside Chamber)
   • Past the first two Stormhawks, Nepheli can be found in a small room on the path leading to the Secluded Cell Site of Grace. Exhaust her dialogue to unlock her summon sign outside the fog gate of Godrick the Grafted.
     • (Optional) Summoning her will unlock alternate dialogue in the next step of her questline.
4. Roundtable Hold
   • Nepheli will be standing just outside Gideon's study. Talk to her to receive the Arsenal Charm.
     • If you defeated Godrick without speaking to her in the previous step, she will not give the Arsenal Charm.
5. Liurnia of the Lakes (Village of the Albinaurics)
   • Nepheli can be found on the slope leading up to the village. Exhaust her dialogue to unlock her summon sign past the bridge leading to the Omenkiller Mini-Boss.
6. Liurnia of the Lakes (The Four Belfries)
   • Use an Imbued Sword Key (one is found in the chest near the Site of Grace) at the Precipice of Anticipation's Sending Gate to return to the starting area of the game and, past the Grafted Scion, enter the previously closed door next to the Chapel of Anticipation to reach the rooftop where The Stormhawk King is found.
7. Roundtable Hold
   • With the Omenkiller defeated (regardless of whether you summoned her), she will return to the Roundtable Hold, relocating at the bottom of the stairs near Hewg. Talk to her, then speak with Gideon selecting Nepheli's despair and return to Nepheli to exhaust her dialogues. At this point, you'll have the following options available:
     • Give Seluvis's Potion: if you have initiated Ranni the Witch's questline at Caria Manor and talked with Preceptor Seluvis, you can administer this tonic to Nepheli, ending her questline prematurely, with Nepheli Loux Puppet becoming available for purchase from Pidia, Carian Servant.
     • Give The Stormhawk King: this Key Item will allow her questline to enter its final stage, once exhausted all of her dialogues.
8. Limgrave (Godrick the Grafted)
   • After defeating Morgott, the Omen King, return to the Godrick the Grafted Site of Grace and exhaust Gatekeeper Gostoc's dialogues, reloadig the area until he disappears from stomping on Godrick's corpse. Gostoc and Nepheli will now be found within the throne room of Stormveil Caste: exhaust her dialogues to receive Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone x1 and he too will now sell one for 20,000 Runes.
     • While this also concludes Kenneth Haight's questline, without the need to have proceeded through any of the other steps in his questline in order to unlock this step, he is completely optional for Nepheli and Gostoc's questline.
9. Leyndell, Ashen Capital (Queen's Bed Chamber)
   • (Optional) Nepheli's summon sign can be found outside the fog gate of Godfrey, First Elden Lord, alongside Shabriri's if the player has followed Hyetta and Yura's questlines.

Notes

• Nepheli Loux's name implies that she is related to Godfrey, who's name following his banishment from the Lands Between is Hoarah Loux. This connection is also supported by Kenneth Haight's decision to appoint her as the new lord of Limgrave, following his proclamation to find someone of the "proper lineage".
