Gargantuan deciduous trees with dense canopies of golden leaves, visible from great distances. The bark of young Minor Erdtrees gives of a golden glow that fades as they reach maturity.

Background[]

The Erdtree's offspring sprouted from its fabled Golden Seeds, scattered across the Lands Between when it sensed the end of its life for the first time.

Queen Marika the Eternal would plant developing Minor Erdtrees at the Minor Erdtree Church, where she would deliver a speech, demanding to abandon blind faith and declaring her intent of inquiring the depths of her Golden Order in an attempt to strengthen its grace through understanding.^[1]. The order of the Erdtree Guardians would be established to protect the Erdtree's offspring through a pact with it.^[2]^[3] Talismans depicting the Erdtree seed, once believed as something that could not exist, were crafted to increase the powers of its blessed sap^[4] Perfumers developed wondrous physicks using the crystal tears that were slowly collected in basins at the feet of the Minor Erdtrees^[5] Catacombs for Erdtree Burial would be built close to Minor Erdtrees as their roots were once linked together with those of the Erdtree^[6]

Upon the shattering of the Elden Ring, fearing its coming end again, the Erdtree would release new seeds that would start growing into Illusory Trees^[7]^[8] and deploy Erdtree Avatars to protect its already grown but withering offspring.^[8]
