Mausoleum Knights is enemies in Elden Ring.

Overview[]

The Mausoleum Knights of Castle Sol willingly beheaded themselves to serve their masters in Death, a self-inflicted curse that bound their souls to the land.[1] In doing so, they became phantasmal guardians of the Wandering Mausoleums—enormous, tolling belfries interring the soulless cadavers of dead Demigods.[2][3][4] Lhutel the Headless, leader of the Mausoleum Knights, sacrificed her life to continue serving a soulless Demigod until their revival, earning her the hero's honor of Erdtree Burial.[5]

The Knights commanded the Mausoleum Soldiers and Mausoleum Foot Soldiers, and maintained a large presence in Tombsward, northern Liurnia, and around the Nameless Eternal City in the Deeproot Depths. A detachment at Noklateo, the Shrouded City included Headless Trolls, Headless Gladiators, and Headless Fallen Hawk Soldiers.

They wore wing-shaped ornaments on their backs to evoke the wicked Deathbirds of old[1][6]—offspring of the Twinbird who burned death in cold ghostflame to release vengeful spirits.[7][8] Their crested shields displayed the sun in eclipse, a star that protected the soulless by keeping Destined Death at bay.[9][10][11] They bore weapons enrobed in the Prince of Death's black-and-gold flame, inflicting Holy Holy damage and Death Blight Death Blight buildup,[12] and they hurled phantasmal spears.[13]
