Acquisition[]

Found near the Village of the Albinaurics Site of Grace in Liurnia of the Lakes.

Notes[]

  • While the skill, Quickstep, is rather generic for an innate, locked skill, it's still very useful for quicker traversal on surfaces that slow you down, like deep muck or water, and for getting around in combat aggressively.
    • Due to this weapon's mild Intelligence requirement and light weight, it allows for exploiting the fact that Quickstep costs 0 FP if the weapon's requirements aren't met and 8 out of 10 Origins won't do so by default (only the Astrologer and Prisoner meet them). While this heavily limits the skill's in-combat usage (decreases amount of i-frames from 15 to 5) it does make it ideal for traveling over slowing surfaces.
  • Unusually for a weapon upgraded with Smithing Stones, this weapon cannot be buffed or have its affinity changed.
  • Though its Dexterity-scaling is slightly stronger than its Intelligence-scaling it gains the most Attack Power from a hybrid Dexterity/Intelligence approach.
    • Though the description may give the impression that this is a Faith-scaling weapon, it has not association with that stat.
  • Overall a somewhat awkward weapon when it comes to how to best use it. A pure Intelligence build would do better with any other dagger with a Magic affinity while a hybrid Dex/Int build would probably prefer the Glintstone Kris.
    • It does admittedly serve as a decent stand-in for the aforementioned Glintstone Kris before getting it since it requires defeating two specific bosses holding Great Runes while the Ivory Sickle can be gained without defeating any boss at all if Stormveil Castle is bypassed and is available a bit earlier than most Cold or Magic affinity Skills. It's also a decent off-hand weapon but is somewhat hampered by requiring the somewhat hard-to-get-enough-of regular Smithing Stones.
  • All attacks ignore 50% of guarded damage negation, though the dagger's low original Attack Power may make it appear to be lower than that.
    • This applies to both the Physical damage and the Magic damage.
    • As a dagger it will bounce away when hitting Medium Shields and Greatshields which means the weapon should preferably be used two-handed when attacking against those so that the guard-piercing can be fully exploited.

Upgrade Information[]

  • Upgraded with regular Smithing Stones.
  • Cannot have its Affinity or Skill changed.
  • The upper number in the Atk column denotes Physical base damage while the lower, colored number in the Atk column denotes elemental base damage: red for Fire damage, yellow for Lightning damage, orange for Holy damage, and cyan for Magic damage.
  • See the Weapon Scaling page for what the scaling values mean.
