Host of Fingers is a multiplayer role in Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree.
Overview[]
The Host of Fingers is the host of the multiplayer session. Other players are being summoned to or invading the world of the host player. The Host of Fingers has one objective: Defeat the area boss without dying.
There are several ways to become a Host of Fingers. They are as follows:
- Use a Furlcalling Finger Remedy and summon a Furled Finger from a gold summon sign.
- Use a Furlcalling Finger Remedy and summon a Duelist from a red summon sign.
- Use the Taunter's Tongue in an area with a living boss to be Invaded by another player.
The connection will end if the host uses the Finger Severer, defeats a boss, or is killed in any way. The Finger Severer cannot be used to dismiss an Adversary.
Notes[]
- Summoning Furled Fingers is mostly the same as summoning NPC Cooperators.
- Gold Ally summon signs are hidden after the area's boss has been defeated.
- The Host of Fingers has no color overlay (e.g., red).
- The Host's Trick-Mirror can give the player a golden overlay, regardless of role.
- The Furled Finger's Trick-Mirror has no effect when equipped to the Host of Fingers.
- The Finger Severer cannot be used to dismiss red players.
- The Host of Fingers retains their full Sacred Flask charges; however, they cannot rest at Sites of Grace while the Furlcalling Finger Remedy or Taunter's Tongue is active.
- If the host has activated the White Cipher Ring, blue Hunters may be summoned automatically to repel the Invading players.
