Build Optimization[]
For people who wish to select an origin that will have the most optimal stat distribution for a build with the fewest stat points wasted, the Hero is the best choice for essentially any build which focuses mainly on Strength. Note that these builds are not necessarily "good", they are just what this origin is better at than any other.
Pure Strength[]
The Hero is by far and away the best origin for a build that increases strength while forsaking all other damage stats, saving 6 entire levels when compared to Wretch. This makes it the best choice for weapons such as the Greatsword or Giant-Crusher, which demand high strength but little of anything else. If a weapon requires 13 or more dexterity to wield, Vagabond will tie with Hero in point efficiency but hero will still outmatch every other origin considerably.
The Hero origin is also either the most efficient or tied for most efficient option for any hybrid class which is focused on raising the strength stat, with the exception of strength/dexterity/intelligence focuses and strength/dexterity/faith focuses, for which prisoner and vagabond are the best options respectively. This makes Hero the best option for essentially any strength hybrid weapon that does not demand high dexterity, such as:
Note that Astrologer and Prophet both beat out Hero for strength/intelligence and strength/faith builds respectively if the dexterity requirement is 10 or higher, meaning that Hero is not optimal for weapons such as Starscourge Greatsword
Pure Arcane[]
Surprisingly, Hero is also the best origin for a build which focuses on ignoring the leveling of other damage stats in favor of only increasing Arcane - although only being 1 level more efficient than both Wretch and Bandit - making it potentially the best option for bleed, poison and occult infusions. However, if the build also requires at least 11 dexterity or 9 intelligence, Bandit then becomes the most optimal origin.
