Amber egg clutched by Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon. Great Rune of unborn demigods.
Perfects those who have been born anew.
Children born anew by Rennala are all frail and short-lived. Imperfect beings, each and all.
Use[]
- Main article: Rebirth
- The Great Rune of the Unborn enables Rennala to Rebirth the player, altering their appearance and reallocating their Attributes. While cosmetic changes are free, reassigning stats costs one Larval Tear (or a Larval Tear), which is consumed upon use.
- The Great Rune of the Unborn is required to progress the questlines of Boc the Seamster, Primeval Sorcerer Azur, Primeval Sorcerer Lusat, Ranni the Witch, Sorceress Sellen, and Witch-Hunter Jerren.
Acquisition[]

- The Great Rune of the Unborn is acquired by defeating Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon at the Academy of Raya Lucaria.
Notes[]
- Radagon gave the amber egg to Rennala when he left her to become Queen Marika's Elden Lord.[1]
- However it is not specified whether the Great Rune came with it or was simply attracted by the Unborn Demigod inside the egg as one of the Shardbearers following the Shattering.
- The Amber Egg is the form taken by the Great Rune of the Unborn while outside of the Elden Ring.
- Rennala uses it to create Juvenile Scholars from spiritgraves.
- Just like Rune of Death, this Great Rune is active by default and does not require visiting a Divine Tower.
- The Larval Tear is only consumed if the player's Attributes are changed. To avoid spending it, simply back out of the menu.
Trivia[]
- Although this item is added to the inventory, it stays with Rennala.
