Golden Order Greatsword is a Legendary melee armament found in Elden Ring.
Description[]
Greatsword made of light, modeled after the Elden Ring itself. Forged by the King Consort Radagon to proudly symbolize the tenets of the Golden Order. One of the legendary armaments.
Telltale signs betray that this was once the greatsword bequeathed to him by his first wife, Rennala.
Unique Skill: Establish Order
Raise the armament in salute, releasing a golden explosion. Repeated inputs send out waves of golden light.
Acquisition[]
Received upon defeating the Misbegotten Crusader in Cave of the Forlorn, located in the Consecrated Snowfield.
Notes[]
While a pure Faith build would be expected to be strongest investment in terms of pure Attack Rating (AR) for this weapon, after Faith reaches 50 Dexterity will grant roughly equal AR until it also reaches 50. The first option will grant stronger casting, more damage from the skill and potentially also higher melee damage if an enemy has lower or equal Holy defence to its Physical defence. The second option grants slightly quicker casting and potentially slightly better damage if an enemy has higher Holy defence than Physical defence.
This is one of the few weapons that deal 20% bonus damage to Undead enemies such as Skeletons and Death Rite Birds and will also prevent the former from resurrecting without needing an extra hit to finish them off.
Trivia[]
- Despite its description saying it is made of pure light it is actually of average weight among the Greatswords and is not one of the game's two weightless weapons, the Coded Sword and the Cipher Pata.
The Chinese and Korean version 1.00 release of the game preserve a very different earlier draft of this item description, roughly translating to "A greatsword guided by the one and only Rune of Life. The overflowing golden light became a blade without substance. The embodiment of the power of the Erdtree itself."[1] The role of Carian matrimonial sword was instead filled by the Sword of Night and Flame.
