Golden Lightning Fortification is an incantation spell in Elden Ring. It is one of the Erdtree Worship Incantations.
Description[]
An incantation of Erdtree Worship.
Greatly increases lightning damage negation for the caster and nearby allies. Hold to continue praying, delaying the effect.
This incantation was used by the knights of the Erdtree during the assault by the great ancient dragon Gransax, and the bitter War of the Ancient Dragons that followed.
Acquisition[]
Guaranteed Drop: Crumbling Farum Azula
- Drops from a Scarab south of the Dragon Temple Lift Site of Grace, near an Ancient Dragon.
Effects[]
Grants a Body Buff that decreases Lightning damage taken by 60% (20% in PvP) for 70 seconds for caster and allies within a 6 meter radius.
Notes[]
- Costs 20 points of Stamina to cast.
- Overall a very strong defensive incantation, and one that comes just before the final Lightning-heavy area in the game, Crumbling Farum Azula, and the Dragonlord, one of the more Lightning-focused bosses in the game.
- Since it doesn't actually apply a flat increase to damage negation, just the damage taken, the actual effective new damage negation (the one shown on the character screen) can be calculated with the following formula: 1 - (1 - (current Lightning damage negation)/100) * (1 - 0.60).
- As an example, if Lightning damage negation before casting the incantation is 25.000 the result becomes this: 1 - (1 - 25.000/100) * (1 - 0.60) = 0.7, or 70.0% Lightning damage negation.
- Against other players, simply replace the 0.60 with 0.20 for a new end result of 40.0% Lightning damage negation.
- Since it's effectively the damage taken that is reduced, the higher Lightning damage negation stat a character has before casting the spell the less effective it may appear to be in the statistics.
