Godslayer incantations, also known as black flame incantations, are a type of Incantation in Elden Ring. They are used primarily by the Godskin Apostles to harness the power of the black flame. These incantations focus on dealing damage over time and offer protection or enhancements. The Godslayer's Seal increases the effectiveness of offensive black flame incantations (except for Black Flame Blade and Noble Presence) by 10%.
All offensive Godslayer Incantations deal Fire damage and they all inflict a Blackflame effect that deals additional damage equal to 2% of the target's maximum HP + 20 over the course of 2 seconds per hit (note that this doesn't stack, with another hit merely refreshing the duration).
All bosses in Shadow of the Erdtree are resistant to this percentage-based damage, only taking damage equal to 1% of target's maximum HP + 10 over 2 seconds. Messmer the Impaler, Bayle the Dread, and the Promised Consort are even more resistant to the effect, only taking damage equal to 0.7% of target's maximum HP + 7.
