Gods are the most powerful entities in the world of Elden Ring.
List of gods[]
Queen Marika the Eternal[]
- Main article: Queen Marika the Eternal
Queen Marika the Eternal is the divine sovereign of the Lands Between. She was a Numen woman hailing from a Shaman Village in the Hinterland. As an Empyrean, Marika traveled to the Gate of Divinity atop Enir-Ilim where she ascended to godhood and became the vessel of the Elden Ring.[1] Marika is further known as the mother or step-mother of the demigods, grower of the Erdtree, founder of the Golden Order, slayer of the Fell God as well as the spouse of the Elden Lords Godfrey and Radagon. Although she vanished after the Shattering, Marika influences the Tarnished and her chosen through the golden Guidance of Grace.
Miquella the Kind[]
- Main article: Miquella the Kind
After Godfrey was Tarnished, the demigod Miquella the Kind was born to Queen Marika and Lord Radagon.[2] Despite his eternal youth, he was selected as an Empyrean like his twin sister, Malenia.[3] He was the master inventer of Unalloyed Gold, the grower of the sacred Haligtree, and a coercive charmer. After divesting himself of his flesh, his eye, his fears, his vacillation, and St. Trina—his love and fate[4][5][6]—Miquella, like Marika, ascended to godhood at the Gate of Divinity. He used the body of Mohg to resurrect his promised consort, Radahn,[7] in a failed attempt to succeed his mother as sovereign and usher in an Age of Compassion.[8][9]
Malenia, Goddess of Rot[]
- Main article: Malenia, Goddess of Rot
Malenia, the undefeated Blade and twin sister of Miquella the Kind, was born afflicted with baleful Scarlet Rot.[2][3] However, she managed to suppress it with the help of the Blind Swordsman and Miquella's Unalloyed Gold Needle.[10] During her legendary duel with Radahn at the end of the Shattering, she reluctantly unleashed the Scarlet Aeonia. Following this bloom, the Swamp of Aeonia manifested in Caelid, producing the Kindred of Rot.[11] If the Empyrean Malenia is confronted and defeated at the Haligtree, she will blossom for a second time. Her third and final bloom is prophesied to complete her transformation into a true Goddess of Rot.[12] Unlike her twin, Malenia has no interest in establishing her own Order.
Fell God[]
- Main article: Fell God
The red-haired,[13] one-eyed Fell God of fire is an ancient deity worshipped by the Fire Giants, whom it eternally cursed to tend the Flame.[14] It is regarded as an malevolent entity that opposes and threatens the Erdtree and the Golden Order.[15][16] Queen Marika allegedly slew the Fell God during the War Against the Giants,[17] however, it still lingers within the giants.[18]

Outer Gods[]
- Main article: Outer God
Outer Gods are extremely powerful entities that are unseen or exist outside of the Lands Between. Examples of outer gods are the Formless Mother, the God of Rot,[19] the Twinbird's God, and the Outer God of the Frenzied Flame.
Demigods[]
- Main article: Demigods
Demigods are powerful beings with the divine blood or power but without possessing true godhood. In the Lands Between most demigods are children or step-children of Queen Marika and the Elden Lords. After Marika shattered the Elden Ring, many demigods acquired Great Runes and became Shardbearers. The Tarnished are guided by Grace to challenge the demigods and claim their Great Runes.
Empyreans[]
- Main article: Empyreans
Empyreans are beings capable of becoming gods. During the Age of the Erdtree, Empyreans were chosen by the Two Fingers. Examples of Empyreans are Marika, Miquella, Ranni the Witch, Malenia and the Gloam-Eyed Queen.
Greater Will[]
- Main article: Greater Will
The Greater Will is a mysterious entity or force known for fracturing the One Great. It once sent the Elden Beast to the Lands Between, which would eventually become the Elden Ring itself. The Greater Will also had other vassals like Metyr and her children, the Two Fingers, who selected Empyreans to become gods. The Greater Will is speculated to have imprisoned Queen Marika after she shattered the Elden Ring. Due to the Greater Will's power to rupture the One Great, create and imprison gods, it can effectively be seen as the supreme being of the Elden Ring world.
