Furnace Golem, 焼炉のゴーレム (Shōro no Gōremu), is an enemy in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
Overview[]
Furnace Golems are giant titan-like creatures made from metal branches/rods, with their basket-shaped torsos being pooled with scattered sap from the Scadutree.
From their torsos, Furnace Golems can emit giant flames that burns brightly, which they use to burn victims alive if they are successful in catching them with their giant arms. Alongside their arms, their limbs and legs, which are also made from branches, holds the countless charred remains of those who fell victim to the might of the Furnace Golems, which also includes animals and Dragons.
Because of how deadly and destructive the Furnace Golems are, and of the threat they pose, the demigod Messmer the Impaler, used them as powerful weapons of war in his genocidal Crusade, where they joined Messmer's army in purging the Realm of Shadow of anyone who are impure and didn't bear the light of Grace, while at the same time, destroying anything in their path.
Ever since the departure of Queen Marika the Eternal, the Furnace Golems had scattered throughout the Realm of Shadow and some appeared to have become inactive.

Notes[]
- Furnace Golems could be a nod to Wicker Men, real-life giant wickerwork statues that were built to resemble giant men and were used for human and animal sacrifices, as druids would burn the wicker man while the sacrifices are trapped within the statue.
- Some Furnace Golems are unlit, requiring a Hefty Furnace Pot to be awakened.
