The Fire Monks, also known as the guardians of the Flame, are a faction in Elden Ring. They include the Fire Monks, Fire Prelates, the Guilty, and the Fire Giant.
Background[]
The Fire Monks emerged during the War Against the Giants when they sided with young Marika against the Fire Giants. They used the Giants' Flame to protect her champions,[1] allowing them to purge the Giants from Flame Peak.[2] Afterwards, they were appointed guardians of the inextinguishable flame of ruin.[3] They were sworn to protect the Golden Order and its Erdtree from the sealed Flame that once belonged to the Fire Giants.
The Monks were tasked with halting the surges[citation needed] and safeguarding the Giants' Flame secrets. Their work guaranteed that the Flame would never pose a threat to the Erdtree again.
