Equip Load is one of the stats in Elden Ring.

Total weight of equipped armaments and armor. Movement slows as load increases. The rightmost number is the maximum weight that can be equipped; exceed it and movement slows dramatically.Elden Ring explanation.

The Tarnished's Equip Load affects their movement speed, and increases as the Tarnished equips more items in their equipment slots. It will also affect the amount of invincibility frames and recovery frames, with heavier equipped loads affecting them negatively. More specifically, Light Load rolls and Medium Load rolls are equally effective and have the same recovery time, but the former will roll a longer distance. Heavy Load rolls meanwhile face an almost twice as long recovery animation, leaving the Tarnished very vulnerable to follow-up attacks.

Equipped items totalling less than 30% of the maximum equip load is considered a Light Load. Greater than 30% and less than 70% is considered a Medium Load. Greater than 70% is considered a Heavy Load. The game menu will display the Tarnished's current load type directly under the numerical weight totals.

Exceeding 100% weight load will result in being Overloaded, rendering the Tarnished unable to roll or backstep, instead only staggering forward slightly with no benefit.

Equip Load exceeding 70% also increases the time it takes to recover Stamina as well and increases harm caused by fall damage.

The Tarnished can increase their maximum Equip Load by leveling Endurance. Equip Load experiences soft caps at 25 and 60 Endurance, resulting in diminishing returns as leveling increases past these points.

A Prophet has the lowest starting equip load due to its starting Endurance of 8, while the Samurai has the highest due to its Endurance being at 13.

While all other classes start in Medium Load thanks to their starting equipment, the Vagabond is the only class to start in Heavy Load due to its heavy equipment.

The scaling is strongest early on, around 1.5-1.6 per point of Endurance below 26 points in the Attribute before falling off from 26 to 38 Endurance before recovering and averaging 1.5 from 39 to 60 Endurance before falling down 1.0 Equip Load per point of Endurance above 61.

Items that increase Equip Load[]

Direct (note that only 1 of the 3 Erdtree's Favor talismans can be worn at a time, same with only 1 of the 3 Arsenal talismans being equippable at a time)
Indirect (the two Radagon's talismans cannot be worn at the same time)
