Dragonmaw is an incantation spell in Elden Ring. It is one of the Dragon Communion Incantations.
Description[]
One of the incantations of Dragon Communion.
Transforms caster into a dragon to bite enemies before them.
Incantation of those who have hunted dragons and feasted upon their hearts. Theirs is a pure and overwhelming power.
Acquisition[]
Dragon Communion: Limgrave / Caelid / Jagged Peak
- Acquired from the altar at the Church of Dragon Communion in Limgrave, the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid, or the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion in the Realm of Shadow for 1 Dragon Heart.
Effects[]
The caster lifts up into the air and creates a large dragon head to bite down hard.
Notes[]
- Deals Physical damage.
- Damage is boosted by holding a Dragon Communion Seal in an active hand.
- The spell actually has two separate hitboxes: the more damaging mouth and the weaker neck.
- This incantation is surprisingly capable of, however rarely, landing headshots, increasing direct and Stance damage by 50%.
- While extremely slow, taking around 4 seconds to cast, this spell deals heavy damage and has an excellent turning radius until the bite happens, making it a powerful and often worthwhile gamble if used correctly.
- Deals a massive 55 Stance damage, slightly more than a fully charged heavy attack from hammer-type Colossal Weapons.
- For context, most bosses have between 80 and 120 Stance (the greatest exception is Starscourge Radahn at a whopping 200 Stance).
Trivia[]
- Patch 1.04 reduced the FP cost from 62 to 46, and Patch 1.07 further reduced the FP cost from 46 to 34.
