Divine Fortification is an incantation spell in Elden Ring. It is one of the Two Fingers incantations.
Description[]
Incantation of the Two Fingers' faithful.
Increases holy damage negation. This incantation can be cast while in motion.
Follow the path that has been set for you, and you will make enemies of all others: the monks, the sorcerers, the ancient dragon knights, and the scions of gold. Heed me — the Lands Between offers no welcome to the Tarnished.
Acquisition[]
Guaranteed Drop: Weeping Peninsula
- Divine Fortification is obtained upon defeating the Teardrop Scarab found atop a fallen ruin near the Tombsward Ruins.
Effects[]
Divine Fortification grants a Body Buff that decreases Holy damage taken by 35% (10% in PvP) for 90 seconds.
Notes[]
- Costs 20 FP per cast.
- Costs 13 Stamina per cast.
- Requires 1 Memory Slot to be equipped.
- This spell reduces holy damage taken rather than directly increasing damage negation. The total damage reduction can be expressed by the following formula, where DivineFortification represents the effect magnitude:
- For example, if holy damage negation is 25 at the time of casting, the total reduction against PvE enemies would be 51.25%:
- Against other players, the total reduction would be 32.5%:
- For example, if holy damage negation is 25 at the time of casting, the total reduction against PvE enemies would be 51.25%:
Strategies[]
- The effectiveness of this spell diminishes as holy damage negation increases, offering less benefit when stacked with multiple holy negation sources.
- Divine Fortification is a moderately effective defensive spell with low casting requirements, usable by most starting Origins when equipped with the Two Fingers Heirloom and a Finger Seal.
- This incantation is valuable due to the prevalence of Holy damage in the game, particularly when facing enemies like Cleanrot Knights, Erdtree Avatars, Miranda Blossoms, and Oracle Envoys, especially while exploring Miquella's Haligtree.
- Divine Fortification offers the same holy protection as Holyproof Dried Liver (35%) but at a shorter duration (90 vs. 120 seconds). This spell requires 10 Faith and 1 Memory Slot to be equipped and 20 FP to cast, while the Dried Liver only requires crafting materials.
- The Holyproof Dried Liver is preferable for PvP encounters, as both effects are reduced to 10%.
- Holyproof Pickled Liver [citation needed]
Trivia[]
- This is the only basic Fortification spell that isn't sold by Brother Corhyn.
