Divine Beast Tornado is an incantation spell in Elden Ring. It is one of the Divine Beast incantations.
Description[]
The tempest of the Dancing Lion, wielded as an incantation.
A whirlwind-like twist of the body summons a storm, launching a tornado forward. Charging enhances potency.
The majority of divine beasts were gored and hung upon Messmer's spears, then burned in his flame. Those who witnessed the deed likened it to a funeral pyre for the tower itself.
Acquisition[]
Loot: Ancient Ruins of Rauh
- Drops from the Divine Beast Dancing Lion found by heading east-northeast across the bridge beginning at the Ancient Ruins, Grand Stairway Site of Grace.
- The temple's location is just northeast of the Temple Town Ruins Site of Grace but isn't reachable from that spot.
- The Grand Stairway grace can be found by heading into the temple southwest of the Rauh Ancient Ruins, West Site of Grace and taking a left after the stairs down to find an elevator. Then, turn 180 degrees to the left to find some thin walkways to walk on and drop to a second set underneath them. Continue on the path until you see a small room marked with two torch-pillars to find the elevator to the Stairway grace.
Effect[]
Swirls around twice to gather winds, then throws them forwards in a storm to create a tornado at the endpoint, hitting with Standard Attack Power equal to 220% of Incantation Scaling along the way and at the end.
Can be charged to increase Attack Power to 275% of Incantation Scaling and to launch hit foes.
Notes[]
- Costs 20 points of Stamina to cast. Charging the spell increases the cost to 26 points of Stamina.
- Deals 8 Stance damage with the tornado itself, and 3 Stance damage with the staggering winds cast when starting the incantation.
- Attack Power is boosted by 15% by the Godfrey Icon if charged.
- Since charging the spell already increases Attack Power by 25%, the total Attack Power increase is 44%.
- Deals much more damage if an enemy is hit at the edge of this spell's range, where the tornado lingers, since they will be hit by the traveling hitbox and the end hitbox.
- Note that there is no hyperarmor when casting this spell, and the hitbox from the start-up animation will only stagger very weak enemies. This, combined with the greatest damage happening at the edge of its range, means that this incantation should be cast when far away from enemies.
Trivia[]
- This incantation, much like Catch Flame, Divine Bird Feathers, Fire's Deadly Sin, and Flame Sling, doesn't create a subtype sigil when cast.
- Patch 1.13 increased attack power; enemies hit by the tornado will now be launched upwards, and the tornado will be less likely to disappear due to collision with the terrain.
- Only the fully charged version launches enemies.
- The Attack Power of the uncharged version was increased from 160% of Incantation Scaling to 220% of the same, and from 200% of Incantation to 275% of the same for the charged version.
