Though they seem intelligent, when night falls, their blood boils and they become feral.Demi-Human Ashes

Demi-humans are enemies in Elden Ring.

Background[]

Main article: Demi-Humans

At some point, the demi-humans were stripped of their staggering intelligence and were reduced to violent, cave-dwelling brutes.[1][2][3][4] Their blood began to boil, and their eyes shone red beneath the moonlight.[5] Their vast knowledge of the cosmos vanished as they reverted into savagery.

Demi-human society remained stratified, but its complexity was greatly diminished. Although sorceress queens still reigned over large colonies, most demi-humans fragmented into small bands formed under chiefs. They yielded to strength and valued toughness.[6] Nonetheless, demi-humans became cowards who only ventured out from the safety of their caves to raid or ambush travelers on the road.[7] The very few that retained their wits or manners were beaten and shunned.[8]

Demi-humans of average build, who wear rags. Demi-humans are bestial in appearance, often characterized by fur, elongated faces, and pointed ears. They exhibit a blend of human and mammalian features, yet all share the common trait of possessing five fingers and toes. While typically shorter than the Tarnished, demi-humans vary greatly in size—some are as small as children while others are of towering stature. Demi-humans wield a variety of weapons, including falchions and clubs; some carry rickety shields. Many demi-humans carry string.[9] As night falls, demi-humans become increasingly feral and aggressive, their eyes glowing a menacing red.[10]
