Dropped by the Death Rite Bird on the Mountaintops of the Giants, on the cliffs just southwest of Castle Sol.

Notes

• Has the same horisontal slash heavy attack as the Partisan and the Spiked Spear.
• Be wary of the fact that the skill's damage comes from the explosions on the ground, not the fall of the spears. This means they will miss certain floating and jumping foes, such as the Dragonlord, or foes where the lock-on point isn't over a groundbound hitbox, such as phase 2 of Fire Giant.
• Weapon damage scales mostly with Dexterity while the skill scales with Intelligence.

Trivia

• Patch 1.04 decreased the recovery time after using the skill.
• Patch 1.07 increased the damage of the skill and decreased the amount of time the damage is active.
• Patch 1.08 decreased poise damage of attacks in PvP.
• Patch 1.09 fixed an issue where certain attacks had the wrong Physical scaling, increased the speed of guard counters, and increased how quickly the spears appear.

Upgrading

• This weapon is upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones.
• This weapon can't be infused with Ashes of War or buffed.
