Darkness is an incantation spell in Elden Ring. It is one of the Two Fingers incantations.
Description[]
Incantation of the Two Fingers' servants, who once served as the assassins of the Roundtable Hold.
Creates a veil of darkness that conceals the caster. This incantation can be cast while in motion or crouching.
The assassins were themselves once Tarnished who had strayed from guidance, and they pursued their duty in the darkness that is without grace.
Acquisition[]
Purchase: Roundtable Hold / Liurnia of the Lakes / Altus Plateau / Leyndell, Royal Capital / Mountaintops of the Giants
- Sold for 3,500 Runes by Brother Corhyn or Miriel, Pastor of Vows after giving either of them the Assassin's Prayerbook.
- Should the prayerbook be given to one of them and that instructor die before purchasing this Incantation, the player can still purchase it from the Twin Maiden Husks for the same price, after giving them the respective tutor's Bell Bearing.
- WARNING: Should both Corhyn and Miriel die before giving either of them the prayerbook, this incantation becomes unavailable for that character until a new Journey is started.
Effects[]
Creates a 5-meter radius cloud of darkness at the caster's location for 5 seconds. Any enemies that come into contact with it are blinded for 7 seconds, temporarily rendering them non-hostile.
Notes[]
- Costs 24 Stamina to cast.
- The blinding and pacifying effect of this spell does not affect bosses or other players.
Strategies[]
- The obscuring darkness can be used to mask a caster’s actions from other players (and vice-versa).
- Useful for setting up Backstabs against powerful non-boss enemies, such as knights, or for escaping large groups of enemies.
Trivia[]
- Update 1.07 reduced the FP consumption of this spell from 34 to 24.
