The Dark Moon is a celestial body in Elden Ring.
Overview[]
The cold and leaden Dark Moon first appeared before Ranni the Witch during her childhood.[1] A heretical snowy witch later warned her of its occult influence.[2] The moon was a traditional symbol of the Caria,[3][4] and the Dark Moon became emblematic of Ranni's power and authority.[5] Vassals of the Lunar Princess also swore their allegiance to her moon.[6]
If Ranni succeeds Queen Marika,[7] she will usher in an Age of the Stars, guided by the wisdom of the Dark Moon.[8]
Notes[]
- The Dark Moon and its light may be seen from the Moonlight Altar in Liurnia of the Lakes.
- The Dark Moon may be living entity,[9][10][11] and is speculated to be an outer god.
- The Dark Moon may be synonymous with the Black Moon of Nokstella, Eternal City;[12][13][14] however, that moon was shattered into pieces long ago.[15]
