D, Beholder of Death is an NPC in Elden Ring.
He is also possible to summon as a co-operator for the Valiant Gargoyles boss.
Background[]
Devin, more commonly known as "D", is the twin-brother of Darian, who is also known as D. The two twins had separate minds and bodies, but shared a single soul. For this, they were reviled as accursed beings, but found solace in the Golden Order, which accepted them both.
Travelling deep below ground, to the very roots of the Erdtree, Devin came face to face with the Prince of Death himself. The encounter appears to have nearly shattered Devin's mind, as he came to dwell in the Siofra Aqueduct, barely able to speak.
When Devin's twin was murdered by Fia, a servant of the Prince of Death, a Tarnished champion delivered Darian's armor to Devin. Seemingly acknowledging that Darian had died, but still barely able to speak, Devin gathered himself, and if requested, helps the Tarnished champion clear the way to the Deeproot Depths.
After Fia is given the other half of the Cursemark of Death, allowing her to lay with the Prince of Death in order to produce a Rune of Death, Devin will finally find her, and kill her. The Tarnished champion can find Devin gloating and taunting the Prince of Death, cursing him and the murdered Fia. Having avenged his brother, Devin declares he has no more regrets and prays for the honeyed rays of gold to deliver his spirit, so that he may once again look his brother in the eye.

- Devin can be found outside the Valiant Gargoyles' duo boss arena beyond Hallowhorn Grounds. He can be given the full Twinned Set if you obtained it at the end of D, Hunter of the Dead's questline.
- (optional) He is available as a summon for the Valiant Gargoyles duo boss after being given the Twinned Set and reloading the area.
- If the Twinned Set was instead obtained by killing D, Hunter of the Dead directly, D, Beholder of Death will instead become hostile the next time the area is loaded after being given the set and will drop both the Twinned Set and the Inseparable Sword when killed, immediately ending his questline right there.
- Devin can be found outside the Valiant Gargoyles' duo boss arena beyond Hallowhorn Grounds. He can be given the full Twinned Set if you obtained it at the end of D, Hunter of the Dead's questline.
- Deeproot Depths
- After completing Fia's questline and obtaining the Mending Rune of the Death Prince, D can be found standing over Fia's corpse. After reloading the area, he will be gone, and the Inseparable Sword and Twinned Set can be found nearby.
