Build Optimization[]
For people who wish to select an origin that will have the most optimal stat distribution for a build with the fewest stat points wasted, Confessor is objectively the worst choice. Origins become more efficient when they have lower stats as this means the low stat can be ignored and the points can instead be invested in attributes that the build makes use of. With Confessor's lowest stat values being a 9 in Intelligence and a 9 in Arcane, the origin only has a maximum of 2 points it can potentially save when compared with Wretch. Even in a build where none of its other points are wasted, Prophet, Hero and Vagabond save more stat points overall than Confessor, as their lowest stats are all at 7 which grants them far more build potential. Note that these builds are not necessarily "good", they are just what this origin is better at than any other.
Sword of Night and Flame[]
Despite the issues inherent to confessor it has one single solitary niche, being one of the two most optimal origins to build for the Sword of Night and Flame. It shares this tie with Astrologer and both origins save 1 stat point on this build when compared to Wretch. The only notable difference between the two options is that Confessor has 2 less Mind than Astrologer. This gap in FP does not affect the number of times you are able to use the sword's weapon skill, meaning that Confessor is overall the most optimal origin if you specifically do not want to cast spells as part of this build, or invest in being able to cast the weapon skill more often.
