Commoner is an enemy in Elden Ring.

Overview[]

Lower-class citizens of Lands Between, commoners can be found in most major settlements. They no longer have their wits about them[1], and are typically hostile towards the Tarnished. They are most often seen wearing boards around their neck depicting a sprawling tree, with holes formed by its roots. This is a self-imposed shackle representing a voluntary display of allegiance to the Erdtree.[2]

Variant Description[]

Commoners dressed in plain garb, bearing evidence of their devotion to the Erdtree on the boards hung around their necks. They fight using weathered straight swords, and will sometimes through Fire Pots and Ruin Fragments.

They have the ability to continuously resurrect nearby Skeletons by preventing them from being permanently killed unless anti-Those Who Live in Death equipment is used. If the necromancer is killed, all of the skeletons connected to them will also die.
