Coded Sword is a straight sword in Elden Ring.
Description[]
Hidden sword once granted to the Tarnished of the Roundtable by the Two Fingers. A formless cipher comprises its blade, which deals holy damage no shield can repel.
Champions would gather at the Roundtable Hold in days long past, when the Two Fingers were masters of oration, their flesh yet full of vigor.
Unique Skill: Unblockable Blade
Imbue the cipher blade with light, extending its length, then strike with a sudden sweeping attack. This attack cannot be blocked.
Acquisition[]
The Coded Sword can be found on the upper floor of the Fortified Manor in Leyndell, Royal Capital, in the room that mirrors the one that the Two Fingers of the Roundtable Hold can be found it. This weapon cannot be acquired once the Tarnished has defeated Maliketh.
Notes[]
- As the name suggest, the skill, Unblockable Blade, will pierce through all the damage negation from a blocking shield or weapon. It also has a very wide reach since it's a sweeping attack and deals Stance damage on par with a Straight Sword's charged heavy attack, meaning it can break the Stance of most enemies within 2 hits and most bosses within 3 or 4 hits.
- Unlike all other weapons, this weapon doesn't bounce away from any shield when wielded one-handed, not even when hitting the Ant's Skull Plate or sturdy enemies such as Miners.
- Since this weapon has no Physical damage and instead is fully elemental, and its skill fully ignores all the damage negation of a block, it's not very wise to try to block it.
- Since this weapon deals pure Holy damage it benefits fully from Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear but is also heavily weakened if the fought enemy has high Holy Damage Negation, something that becomes increasingly common among Bosses after entering Leyndell, Royal Capital, with most of them having 40% Holy damage negation and 3 (technically 2) late-game bosses having 80% Holy damage negation.
Upgrade Information[]
- Upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones.
- Cannot have its Affinity and Skill changed.
