Church of Vows is a location in Elden Ring.
Overview[]
An old, crumbling church on the eastern side of Liurnia of the Lakes. The Church of Vows was the site of the marriage between Rennala, Queen of Caria, and Radagon, the red-haired champion of the Golden Order, uniting the houses of the Erdtree and the Moon following their conflict during the Second Liurnian War. Several of Radagon's personal effects are found at this location, seemingly abandoned as part of his vow.
The aged tortoise pastor, Miriel, oversees the church despite its dilapidated state. He has in-depth knowledge of the history of Liurnia and the Carian Royal Family, which he is happy to divulge if spoken to.
Basin of Atonement[]
Absolution requires one Celestial Dew
At the back of the church stands a Nox Swordstress statue and an ornate Basin of Atonement. It is said that Radagon repented his territorial aggression by cleansing himself with dew in this pool. The player may replicate this act here by offering up Celestial Dew, performing an Absolution.
Absolution simply reverts any NPCs that have been attacked and made hostile back to their original, non-hostile state. It will not render passive any characters that are hostile by default, nor will it revive those who have died. It will not restore Melina as a traveling companion, even if the Frenzied Flame has been suppressed with Miquella's Needle.

Notes[]
- If the Bell Bearing Hunter does not spawn, try exhausting Miriel's dialogue, hitting him, or resting at the Site of Grace after setting the time to night.
- Miriel is absent while the Bell Bearing Hunter event is active.
- The Church of Vows was presumably used by the Nox prior to their banishment underground.[1]
- The architecture at the church matches the Cathedral of Manus Celes and the Cathedral of Manus Metyr, implying all three buildings were constructed by the Nox.
- The windows at these locations are paned with the same horseshoe-shaped "Two Fingers" motif.
