Carian Knight's Sword is a straight sword found in Elden Ring.
Description[]
Straight sword embedded with a blue glintstone. Weapon of knights sworn to Carian royalty.
These knights' sword could serve as catalysts, letting them wield sorcerous battle skills. Despite numbering fewer than twenty, this power made them a match for even the champions of gold in battle.
Acquisition[]
Held by a Carriage located in the northwest region of Liurnia of the Lakes, between the Northern Liurnia Lake Shore and The Four Belfries Sites of Grace.
Notes[]
- The locked, innate skill, Carian Grandeur, while not unique and reliant on its weaker Intelligence-scaling, is still very strong if it can hit. Best used as a replacement for a Critical Attack or while lying in ambush since it charges somewhat slowly.
- Gains the most Attack Power (AP) from a hybrid Strength/Intelligence build (616 AP from having 45 Strength, 10 Dexterity, and 45 Intelligence), a bit less from a pure Strength build (609 AP from 80 Strength, 10 Dexterity, and 18 Intelligence), and far less from a pure Intelligence build (576 AP from 10 Strength, 10 Dexterity, and 80 Intelligence).
- Note that since the skill's damage is entirely reliant on the character's Intelligence and the weapon's Intelligence-scaling, the skill will be weaker on the pure Strength build compared to the other two builds.
- Since the Carian Knight's Sword innate Intelligence-scaling is fairly poor, strengthening the skill and the sword's Attack Power together is somewhat difficult, with only the ease of upgrading weapons with Somber Smithing Stones over those needing Smithing Stones keeping it in front of regular Magic affinity weapons with this skill equipped.
- Has a unique blocking heavy attack, shared with the Lazuli Glintstone Sword. While this can make attacking into an attacking foe a bit less punishing, the resulting Stamina damage that will be taken if hit can prevent the user from attacking or rolling away.
- While the brief hit-stun taken by shields isn't suffered when hit, the low Stability means that using the unique heavy attack is highly likely to result in a stun from being guardbroken.
- Stability can be increased by 10% via two-handing and then further by the Greatshield Talisman.
- While the uncharged unique heavy attack deals the same amount of Stance damage as a normal uncharged heavy attack, the charged version only deals 1.5 times more Stance damage instead of the regular straight sword charged version which deals 3 times more Stance damage.
Upgrade Information[]
- Upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones.
- Cannot have its Affinity and Skill changed.
- The upper number in the Atk column denotes Physical base damage while the lower, colored number in the Atk column denotes elemental base damage: red for Fire damage, yellow for Lightning damage, orange for Holy damage, and cyan for Magic damage.
- See the Weapon Scaling page for what the scaling values mean.
