Borealis the Freezing Fog is an optional Great Enemy boss in Elden Ring.

Borealis the Freezing Fog was one of the ice dragons, who were lords of the Mountaintops before the Fire Giants chased them from the peak.[1]

The dragon Borealis patrols the frozen expanse of the Freezing Lake in the northeastern Mountaintops of the Giants.[1] He emerges from a thick white fog, which he exhales clouds that inflict Frostbite.

Location[]

Borealis the Freezing Fog is located in the Mountaintops of the Giants, patrolling the frozen lake southeast of the Sites of Grace Freezing Lake Site of Grace. The nearest Grace is Sites of Grace Spiritcaller Cave.

Drops[]

  • Defeating Borealis the Freezing Fog will award one Dragon Heart Dragon Heart, Runes 100,000 Runes, and will unlock Borealis's Mist, which can be obtained at the altar in the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid for two Dragon Hearts.

Moveset[]

Instead of flames, Borealis exhales Dragonice and Borealis's Mist.

  • Borealis inflicts Frostbite with his breath attacks and roars. His attacks include:
    • Frost Breath: Borealis exhales a cone of freezing fog, which lingers and applies Frostbite.
    • Frost Stomp: Stomps on the ground, creating a shockwave of ice that deals AoE damage and builds Frostbite.
    • Frost Wing Sweep: Swings his massive wings, releasing icy projectiles that track players in the area.
    • Roar: Releases a deafening roar that briefly staggers players and applies frost buildup.
