[1]Blackguard Big Boggart is an NPC in Elden Ring.
Overview[]
Boggart is an ex-convict who was called to the Lands Between by the Guidance of Grace. At some point in the past he was imprisoned in the same gaol as the Dung Eater[2], and saw first hand the ways he defiles and kills people.[3]
The Tarnished first encounters him in Liurnia of the Lakes, where they confront him over the theft of a necklace belonging to Rya. Despite his foreboding first impression, Boggart gives the Tarnished the opportunity to buy back the necklace[4], and offers to sell them some cooked crawfish.
Boggart then journeys to Altus Plateau, setting up camp beside a river outside the capital, where he catches and cooks crabs. Here, he warns the Tarnished about the Dung Eater. Should the Tarnished ignore his warnings and release the killer from his cell in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, Boggart will become his latest victim.

Questline Progression[]
- Liurnia of the Lakes (Boilprawn Shack)
- Head north-west from the Site of Grace to find Rya the Scout inside a gazebo and talk to her.
- Move to north-west again from here to find Blackguard Big Boggart at the Boilprawn Shack and talk to him: select Give me the necklace and then Deal to be able to buy Rya's Necklace from him for 1000 Runes.
- After purchasing the item, he'll start selling an infinite supply of Boiled Prawns. Purchase at least one to progress his questline: you'll receive the "Spread Out" gesture and, in turn, Boggart's summon sign will appear at the Ruin-Strewn Precipice Overlook to aid you against Magma Wyrm Makar.
- Altus Plateau
- After resting at a Site of Grace in Altus Plateau, Boggart will move to the outer moat along the northern wall of Leyndell, Royal Capital in the Capital Outskirts (due west from the Capital Rampart Site of Grace).
- You may now purchase an infinite supply of Boiled Crabs.
- Exhaust Boggart's dialogue about Dung Eater. After freeing Dung Eater from his cell in the Subterranean Shunning Grounds, Boggart will have some additional dialogue.
- Altus Plateau
- After hearing Boggart's final piece of dialogue about Dung Eater, warning you that Dung Eater is lurking nearby, reload the area to find Boggart bound to a chair. Speak to him to trigger an invasion from Dung Eater.
- Defeat Dung Eater and return to Boggart, who is now dead. Loot his equipment, as well as the Seedbed Curse.
