Bayle's Tyranny

Bayle's Tyranny is an incantation spell in Shadow of the Erdtree. It is one of the Dragon Communion Incantations.

Description[]

One of the greatest Dragon Communion incantations. Harnesses the fearsome power of Bayle the Dread.
Channels the form of the dread dragon to emit a mighty roar accompanied by a heatwave burst, causing violent eruptions of fire in the area.
Even after being consumed, the throbbing heart of Bayle continues to resist its subjugation, never weakening. One day, the fire within will consume the very body and soul of its Communion devourer. One day.

Dragon Communion: Foot of the Jagged Peak

Trade the Heart of Bayle at the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion.
- Mutually exclusive with Bayle's Flame Lightning, as the Heart of Bayle and its reward cannot be duplicated.

Effects[]

Summons the head of Bayle to unleash a shockingly fiery roar, dealing Fire damage equal to 325% of Incantation Scaling and Lightning damage equal to 210% of the same, and creating patches of heat a short distance away from the caster that can hit up to 7 times for Fire damage equal to 50% of Incantation Scaling and Lightning damage equal to 20% of the same per hit.

Notes[]

Damage is boosted by 15% per Dragon Communion Seal held in an active hand (2 max).
Damage is boosted by 15% by the Talisman of the Dread.
Damage is boosted by 20% when the Rock Heart is used.
The initial explosion deals about two-thirds of its damage, and the remaining heatwave deals the remaining third in 7 ticks of damage.
Benefits from boosts to both Fire damage and Lightning damage, though more so the former than the latter.

Trivia[]

Patch 1.14 fixed a bug where some attacks of the Bayle’s Tyranny incantation did not hit multiple enemies and fixed a bug that caused the attack of the Bayle’s Tyranny incantation to go through certain terrain.
- Prior to this update, the initial roar would only hit at most one enemy, regardless of how many were in range.
