Basilisk is an enemy in Elden Ring.
Overview[]
Reptilian creatures found in all manner of places throughout the Lands Between. They have what appear to be grotesquely large, bulbous eyes protruding from atop their heads, but these are actually false eyes- their real eyes are far smaller, appearing as pinpricks on their snouts easily mistaken for nostrils. They breathe out clouds of black fog that inflict Death Blight, and attack with swiping claws or leaping up in the air towards their prey.

Notes[]
- Basilisks are a recurring enemy in the Dark Souls franchise, having appeared in all three games. Typically, Basilisks inflict Curse or petrify the player. Although this status does not appear in Elden Ring, their Death Blight-inflicting clouds work in a similar way.
- The large eye-like parts are reminiscent of the eyes seen on the body of Godwyn the Golden. Similar eyes also appear in roots found growing in various graveyards and catacombs.
