Assassin's Approach

Assassin's Approach is an incantation spell in Elden Ring. It is one of the Two Fingers incantations.

Description[]

Incantation of the Two Fingers' servants, who once served as the assassins of the Roundtable Hold.
Completely silences the footsteps of the caster. Additionally, reduces fall damage and the sound produced by falling. This sorcery can be cast while in motion or crouching.
The assassins were charged with eliminating Tarnished who had strayed from guidance.

Acquisition[]

Purchase: Roundtable Hold / Liurnia of the Lakes / Altus Plateau / Leyndell, Royal Capital / Mountaintops of the Giants

Starting spell for the Confessor origin.
Sold for 2,000 Runes by Brother Corhyn or Miriel, Pastor of Vows after giving either of them the Assassin's Prayerbook.
Should the prayerbook be given to one of them and then that instructor die before purchasing this Incantation, the player can still purchase it from the Twin Maiden Husks for the same price, after giving them the respective tutor's Bell Bearing.
- WARNING: Should both Corhyn and Miriel die before giving either of them the prayerbook, this incantation becomes unavailable for that character until a new Journey is started.

Effects[]

Assassin's Approach applies a Buff that silences footsteps and prevents all non-lethal fall damage for 30 seconds.

Notes[]

Costs 15 FP per cast.
Costs 13 Stamina per cast.
Requires 1 Memory Slot to be equipped.
Non-lethal fall damage is only negated for falls between 16 and 20 meters, meaning this incantation does not prevent guaranteed deaths from falls of 20 meters or more.
Overrides and is overridden by Soft Cotton.

Strategies[]

Generally outclassed by Soft Cotton, which is an easy-to-acquire consumable tool that costs no FP to activate. However, Soft Cotton lasts only 20 seconds and cannot be crafted during combat.

Trivia[]

Update 1.03 (undocumented) increased FP cost from 12 to 15.
Update 1.07 extended the duration of this spell from 20 seconds to 30 seconds.
