Aspects of the Crucible: Horns is an incantation spell in Elden Ring. It is one of the Erdtree incantations.
Description[]
One of the ancient Erdtree incantations.
Creates a mighty horn on the caster's shoulder to gore foes from a low stance. Charging allows the caster to barrel into foes before delivering the final attack.
This is a manifestation of the Erdtree's primal vital energies—an aspect of the primordial crucible, where all life was once blended together.
Acquisition[]
Aspects of the Crucible: Horns is acquired by defeating the Crucible Knight in Stormveil Castle, down the outer western rampart. From the Rampart Tower Site of Grace, head north to the walkway with the Warhawks, and drop down to the left at the guard tower. Continue dropping down until you reach a breakable cliff and fall through it to arrive on a cliffside with the Crucible Knight.
Effect[]
The caster crouches slightly and creates a horn on their shoulder before dashing a few steps forward, hitting with Standard Attack Power equal to 277% of Incantation Scaling upon contact with the horn.
Charging the spell increases the Attack Power to 327% of Incantation Scaling and greatly increases the distance charged, to about three times the previous amount, launching any human-sized foes that are hit.
Notes[]
- Costs 38 points of Stamina to cast. Charging the spell increases the cost to 49 points of Stamina.
- Attack Power is boosted by wearing pieces of the Crucible Set (4% per piece, 17% for the whole set because 1.04^4 = 1.17).
- Attack Power is boosted by 15% by the Godfrey Icon if charged.
- Since charging the spell already increases Attack Power by 18%, wearing this talisman increases Attack Power by a total of 36%.
- Deals 16 Stance damage when uncharged and 30 Stance damage when charged.
- The charged version of the spell is generally much better than the uncharged version, primarily due to the increased distance traveled and the ability to launch smaller foes into the air.
Trivia[]
- This spell is used by Crucible Tree Knights, though they summon it on their arm.
- Despite this, the spell is dropped by a Crucible Axe Knight.
- Patch 1.07 decreased FP consumption and increased stamina attack power against guarded enemies.
- Patch 1.04 decreased FP and Stamina cost, increased cast speed, increased the distance traveled when not charged, and made it easier to cause enemies to flinch when charged.
- FP cost was reduced from 30 to 20.
