This Ash of War grants an armament the Heavy affinity and the following skill:
"Lion's Claw: Skill of the Redmanes, who fought alongside General Radahn. Somersault forwards, striking foes with armament."
Usable on swords, axes, and hammers (small armaments and thrusting swords excepted).

, Greatswords, Colossal Swords, Curved Swords, Curved Greatswords, Katanas, Great Katanas , Twinblades, Axes, Greataxes, Hammers, Flails, Great Hammers, and Colossal Weapons.
Compatible with the affinities Standard and Heavy by default, and also Keen, and Quality if the Iron Whetblade has been acquired, Fire and Flame Art if the Red-Hot Whetblade has been acquired, Lightning and Sacred if the Sanctified Whetblade, Magic and Cold if the Glintstone Whetblade has been acquired, and Poison, Blood, and Occult if the Black Whetblade has been acquired.

- Drops from the Elder Lion found in Fort Gael.
- Note that since it can't move from the dirt floor of the Fort, it's possible to kill it safely by using ranged attacks.
Once this item has been obtained, it can be duplicated by trading in Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg.
