Ancestor Spirit is an optional boss in Elden Ring.
Overview[]
Deer-like spirits found in Siofra River. They exist beyond the purview of the Erdtree, and follow the principle that life sprouts from death as it does from birth.[1] This process is reflected by their horns, which sprout new growths even after the ancestor's death.[2] Shamans of the Ancestral Followers don headdresses fashioned from horns with buds, mirroring the appearance of the ancestor spirits.[3]
Ancestor Spirits appear emaciated, with exposed ribs, matted fur, and cavities in their chests. They have large, antler-like horns which glow and sprout small buds.

Bosses[]
Background[]
An Ancestor Spirit found in the lower part of Siofra River, accessible via the Siofra River Well in Limgrave. In order to fight the Ancestor Spirit, the player must light eight flames dotted throughout the area, and then touch the horned remains in the Hallowhorn Grounds south-east of the Siofra River Bank Site of Grace.
The Ancestor Spirit is able to jump up and hop while mid-air. It can produce a jet of blue energy from its mouth, both while on the ground and in the air.
Background[]
An Ancestor Spirit found in the upper part of Siofra River at the northern Hallowhorn Grounds, north-east of Night's Sacred Ground. Much like the other Ancestor Spirit, this one can only be fought after lighting flames- in this case six- in the surrounding area and then touching the horned remains.
Although it initially fights in much the same way as the standard Ancestor Spirit, once its health has been reduce to half it will start to heal itself by siphoning HP from the player, as well as from the spirit animals in the arena. It will also sometimes collapse and fade away, and then emerge from one of the other animals in the arena. It can also use abilities reminiscent of other animals- hopping like a rabbit, charging like a boar, or curling into a ball and rolling like a goat.Notes[]
- Due to their similarities in design and behavior, Torrent is most likely a juvenile Ancestor Spirit.
