The Albinaurics are a faction in Elden Ring.

Overview

The albinaurics are artificial life found across the Lands Between either as a First-Generation Albinauric (including an archer variant) or Second-Generation Albinauric.

Background

Albinaurics are lifeforms made by human hands. Thus, many believe them to live impure lives, untouched by the Erdtree's grace. They are said to have been created from a primordial drop of dew, and secretly harbour the ability to cast magic using their innate arcaneness. All Albinaurics share a fate; their legs will one day fade, and with them, their lives. This process can be seen most clearly in the elderly, bearded Albinaurics that inhabit the Village of the Albinaurics.

Albinaurics are viewed as impure, and are persecuted by the Knights of the Cuckoo for their defiled blood. They seek salvation in Miquella's Haligtree, which they believe to be their chosen land. Aged Albinaurics carry Ivory Sickles in dedication to the Haligtree, despite having never entered its presence.

Characteristics

All first-generation Albinaurics are disabled and have lost the use of their legs. The males appear as withered old men with long beards whose legs are vanishing into shadow. The female archers, who wear blue silver mail born from the same mother as themselves, also lack the functionality of their legs, which they compensate for by riding wolfback. Nonetheless, they were feared as deadly sharpshooters.

Second-generation Albinaurics differ visually from the more humanoid first generation specimens, having heads that resemble those of frogs and protruding bellies. They wield weaponry modelled after the ripples that are said to be the origin of their species, as well as wooden clubs shaped like the crescent moon.

Notable members

Old Albus
An aged inhabitant of the Village of the Albinaurics. He guards half of a medallion which is said to lead the way to Miquella's Haligtree.

Commander Gaius
A legendary boar rider who studied Gravity Sorcery alongside Radahn. He served as an officer in Messmer's army during the Crusade in the Shadow Realm.

Latenna the Albinauric
A female Albinauric who travelled from the land of the Haligtree with her wolf, Lobo. She is hunted by Sir Gideon Ofnir and his bloodhound knights.

Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree
A former Carian Knight who later led Albinaurics to the Haligtree.

Phillia, Towering Little Sister
An Albinauric woman of great size. Latenna intends to deliver her something of importance.

Pidia, Carian Servant
A servant of the Carian Royal Family, Pidia maintains and controls the puppets around Caria Manor.

Aged male Albinaurics whose legs have faded away.

Second-Generation Albinauric
Deformed young Albinaurics with frog-like heads.

Trivia

• "Albinauric" is a combination of two Latin words: albus meaning "pale" or "white" and aurum meaning "gold". This is a reference to their origin as silver.
